The American Kennel Club: More Than Just Breed Info

0

The American Kennel Club’s Canine Health Foundation celebrates its 25th anniversary this year. Since its inception in 1995, it has grown into the world’s largest funder of health research focused solely on dogs. Among its achievements: it has spearheaded critical research for mapping the canine genome, providing much of the initial key to diseases and their cures. It also supports research to help both canine and human cancer patients. And it funded the Search & Rescue Dog Health Fund to study the health of search and rescue dogs deployed in response to the 9/11 terrorist attacks. Check it out at akcchf.org.
