There’s whitish or clear gook in the inner corner of your dog’s eye. Should you be concerned? Nope. It’s a normal dog thing. Just put warm water on a cotton ball and wipe the lower lid to remove it.
What should concern you is if the gook comes back within a few minutes. It shouldn’t be so persistent. Make an appointment with the vet to see what’s going on.
What should also prompt a vet visit: ooze that is not white but green or greenish-yellow. That’s not harmless gook. It’s pus, and it tends to indicate the presence of a foreign body, such as bacteria that cause an infection.
