Dogs, Like People, Need to Warm Up for Vigorous Physical Activity

Too many dogs suffer injuries by getting taken directly from resting to intense exercise.

You know you’re not supposed to go from a resting state straight into rigorous physical exertion. Injuries are more apt to occur if you pivot directly from sitting at your desk all week to intense games of tennis or basketball on Saturday and Sunday. And heart attacks are more likely to strike sedentary people who all of a sudden give it their all to go out and shovel snow. It’s the same with dogs. They need to warm up to avoid body damage.
